The story of Broadlands is more than just a brand — it’s rooted in the land and the legacy of my ancestors. A geographical region located in the prairies of Manitoba, ceded on Treaty 1 Territory, Broadlands is the place where my Mémère, Alice was born, where my Pépère, Albert, worked for many years on his farm and where they are both now laid to rest.

My grandparents were very special people, who throughout their lives remained connected to an old way of living that cherished the joy of simple things. They were resilient and humble people who raised their kids on the spoils of hard work; who shared a deep love for gardening, a profound sense of humor, tremendous love for each other and their family. As farmers, my grandparents enjoyed a beautiful life that was not centered around stuff. They used and cared for their belongings for decades over, until their passing in recent years.
In their honor, Broadlands Co. embraces these same values, taking a circular approach with everything we make. We prioritize minimizing waste, maximizing the use of materials, and plan for the textiles we use to regenerate at their end of life. Our design process, refined through years of research, focuses on garments made from natural fibers and sustainably sourced or reclaimed textiles and that are produced in both small batches and made-to-order. With a background in technical design and a passion for textile art, we also combine careful garment engineering with traditional techniques like quilting, natural dyeing, and embroidery.
Every stitch is a reflection of their legacy—a reminder that clothing should be thoughtfully made, loved, lived in and passed down for generations, allowing us to be fully present and focus on what truly matters.
